Nick and Laura - After "I do"

You might recognize Laura from her bridal portraits that we took before her wedding. I cannot speak enough about how much I love these two. They are equal parts fun, goofy, loving and fantastic. I was lucky enough to be in their wedding - and let me tell you it was a non-stop love fest between their friends and family. The lovely and talented Jonathan O'Brien shot their wedding - and to my excitement they agreed to do a post-wedding photoshoot with me! We had a lot of fun with our shoot - brides take note: I highly recommend the post "I do" shoot! It's a great opportunity to get those laid-back, "I'm not stressed about the reception" shots! Plus, there is no stress about accidentally messing up the dress - which explains why Laura was more than willing to hop up on a hay bail for some of these photos. Another reason why I love them - they are up for ANYTHING! :)

Introducing Mr and Mrs Nick Nichols! (if these photos don't give you the warm and fuzzies it's possible you don't have a heartbeat)

Laura's Bridals

Last month my beautiful friend Laura married her best friend Nick. I've known both of them for several years now and I couldn't image two people better suited for each other. I was so happy when I learned that they were engaged, and even more excited when they asked me to be in their wedding! Nick proposed on a mountain top by reading Laura a heartfelt letter he wrote (swoon).

Laura really wanted a vintage, Anthropologie look for her bridal portraits. We went in search of the perfect location and found one not far from my house. A beautiful open field full of Queen Anne's Lace which just so happened to perfectly match her dress. Right next door was a rustic barn and horse field, and lucky for us the owner was checking her mail as we drove by. Laura didn't think twice about rolling down her window, flashing her sweet smile and saying "I'm getting married, could we take my bridal portraits in front of your barn?" How could the woman say no?

Laura wanted to incorporate the letter Nick read to her when he proposed into a few of the pictures, as well as a locket that she received from Nick's late mother Joanna. I love how these keepsakes added a sentimental touch to the shoot and emphasized the special bond between Laura and Nick.
